From the 2027 model year onwards, all our Pinion models can be configured with a range extender developed specifically for Riese & Müller bikes.
The standard range extender from FIT cannot be used.
Can I retrofit a range extender to my bike with a Pinion MGU?
For models ordered before model year 27, the following applies:
Retrofitting is generally possible.
However, this requires extensive technical modifications. Retrofitting is therefore time-consuming and costly. If you are interested, please contact your Riese & Müller specialist dealer.
For models from model year 27 onwards:
The Nevo5 pinion and Charger5 pinion are always factory-fitted to accommodate the range extender – even if it was not included in the original order. Retrofitting at a later date is therefore easier.
The Homage pinion, Delite pinion and Load pinion are only prepared for the range extender if it is specified at the time of ordering. If the range extender is not ordered at the same time, retrofitting it at a later date is just as complex as with older models.
