The cadence of a derailleur gear can be changed by replacing the drive components. With a vario hub gear, your dealer should regularly calibrate the hub during an annual inspection to ensure the original ratio setting.

Please note that anyone who modifies the drive components becomes the manufacturer of the drive and thus assumes liability for it. With HS bikes (S-Pedelecs), any adjustment will lead to the loss of the operating permit, which can only be restored by an individual acceptance test performed by the TÜV test centre or an equivalent federal motor transport authority centre.
