How can I test my dream bike?

Updated over a week ago

You can test ride your dream bike – or even several models for comparison – at your convenience at a Riese & Müller dealer of your choice.

How can I arrange a test drive with a dealer?

  • Use the dealer search on our website to find the dealer that is most convenient for you and that has your desired model in stock.

  • Many dealers allow you to arrange a test drive directly via the dealer search. Simply click on "Arrange a test ride" and fill out the contact form.

  • If no corresponding button is displayed for a dealer, you can find the contact details via "To the dealer". In this case, you can easily contact the store by telephone or e-mail to arrange a test ride.

Please provide your dealer with specific information about the desired model(s) (frame height, gear variant, etc.) and your preferred appointment times. This will help them to prepare for your visit.

  • Your dealer will contact you directly shortly to arrange a specific appointment with you.

How binding is the enquiry via the contact form?

The contact form offers you a quick and easy way to get in touch with a dealer of your choice to get advice and arrange a test drive.

The selected dealer will then contact you to discuss your individual requirements and arrange a personal appointment.

By submitting the contact form, you are not obliged to arrange a personal appointment, nor does this constitute any kind of commitment to purchase.

How does a test ride work?

Test rides are usually free of charge, even if you don't end up buying the bike.

You will typically receive detailed instructions on the model you want to try before setting off. You can then test the bike thoroughly (usually on a specified route).

The exact procedure for a test ride – as well as its duration, length and the planned route – may vary depending on the dealer. It is best to clarify the usual conditions directly with your dealer in person.

Do I need a helmet?

For your own safety, we recommend that you always wear a helmet.

Especially when testing a new or unfamiliar model – or even riding an e-bike for the first time – it is extremely important to protect yourself as best as possible against falls. Some dealers therefore insist on wearing a helmet, while others leave the decision up to you. Many also provide test helmets for test rides.

Please note: In the UK, wearing a helmet is mandatory for HS bikes (S-pedelecs). As soon as the test ride takes place on public land, wearing a helmet is mandatory. Please check the legal situation in your country in advance if necessary.

What happens after the test ride?

That's entirely up to you.

Even a test ride does not oblige you to purchase a bike. You can test other models, get detailed advice from your dealer, request a quote or place an order directly.

Can I also drop by a dealer spontaneously?

Of course, you can also visit your dealer spontaneously and without prior appointment during opening hours (you can also find these via the "To the dealer" button).

Please note, however, that your desired bike may not be available or that the time for a personal consultation may be limited.

Are there other options for a test ride besides visiting a dealer?

Yes. You also have the opportunity to test ride our bikes on a test track at some trade fairs and events.
