Who is my contact for the maintenance and repair of my bike?
E-bikes are technically complex modes of transport, the safe use of which depends largely on regular maintenance by trained specialist personnel. The same applies to repairs of all kinds.
Basically, the Riese & Müller dealer from whom you bought the bike – or the one you selected as your Service Hub when you bought the bike from our online shop or factory sales outlet – is your contact for all service, maintenance and repair matters. However, it is always possible to visit another Riese & Müller dealer for this purpose. You can find an overview of all the dealers in your area in the Dealer Search feature on our website.
However, please note that only your contractual partner or Service Hub is obliged to offer you appointments, and accept and handle any complaints under warranty.
As the bike industry has experienced a major upswing in recent years, bike workshops have a heavy workload. Therefore, please note that you may experience a certain waiting time for workshop appointments.
How do I need to maintain and service my bike?
Maintain your e-bike regularly and ask your dealer to carry out the regular maintenance work. The first service is due after 400 km at the latest, then every 2,000 km or one year from the date of sale (whichever comes first). The general owner’s manual for your bike provides a detailed service and maintenance schedule setting out what work is due and when.
Regular maintenance is necessary for your own safety and also for the long service life of your bike.
What are wear parts?
Some components of your e-bike are subject to wear owing to their function. The extent of wear depends on the care, maintenance and nature of the use of your bike (mileage, riding in rain, dirt, salt, etc.). You can find out which components are subject to wear in the general owner’s manual.
Replacing these parts due to wear is not subject to the statutory liability for defects.
All wear parts need to be replaced as soon as they have reached their wear limit. Your Riese & Müller dealer has access to the parts list for your bike and can precisely determine the part, order it for you, and then replace it.
My bike is faulty - what now?
It is possible that a repair may be necessary even though we prioritise quality and durability when selecting our components. Your Riese & Müller dealer will also handle this. If your dealer requires assistance from the manufacturer in this, they will simply contact our technical dealer service.
If you believe that the fault is a warranty or guarantee case, the dealer from whom you bought the bike is also the point of contact for this. You can read all about guarantee and warranty cases here.
